Grip Still Failed.
Greg Pope and James Pidhurney spent their careers engineering coatings that protect fighter jets from Mach 4 heat and keep the ocean outside nuclear submarines. After a frustrating tennis match where Greg's grip gave out on a sweltering afternoon, they realized a slippery grip was just another coating problem, and that the real cause was not sweat but the oil the skin produces underneath it. Two years of testing in James's basement later, Chalkless was invented.

Frustrated after another slippery match, Greg knew there had to be a better solution and he brought that problem to James. Two engineers with backgrounds in aerospace and defense, they were uniquely positioned to solve it.
Greg and James quickly discovered the real culprit wasn't sweat, it was the oils on the skin combining with moisture to kill grip. After hundreds of iterations in James' basement, the formula that would become Chalkless finally took shape.
Chalkless made its debut at the PGA Show, putting the product in front of the industry for the first time. The soft launch confirmed what Greg and James already knew: they had something special.
Fresh off the PGA Show, Major League Baseball reached out about coating baseballs with Chalkless. It was the kind of early validation that confirmed this wasn't just a product, it was a category. The sport that depends on grip more than almost any other had taken notice.
In 2023, Chalkless underwent a full rebrand, sharpening the identity to match the science behind it. The new look reflected a company that had outgrown its origins and was ready to compete on a bigger stage. The foundation was set for what came next.
Chalkless hit the Shark Tank stage in 2024 and walked away with two sharks and a deal. National exposure, new backing, and a product that had already proven itself.
In 2026, Chalkless set its sights on 1MT putting the product in the hands of one million people. From gyms to golf courses, baseball diamonds to concert stages, the mission is simple. Once you feel it, you never go back.
